This wardrobe item is familiar to almost everyone. But few people know that it has a lot of varieties. Initially, it should be understood that scarves have two main purposes. The first is practicality. That is, they perfectly serve as a warming agent in cold and windy weather. It is designed to cover the neck. Thus, a person in severe weather conditions feels much warmer and more comfortable. After all, no matter how warm the jacket or coat is, if the neck is open it will still be cold. The second purpose is to give an attractive appearance. That is, scarves are used by many as an accessory, as an element of decor. Such use of scarves looks quite stylish, if, of course, it is correctly selected for other elements of clothing.

Shawl

This type of scarves serves more as an accessory. The conceived shawl consists of a fairly long and wide fabric. The fabric itself is thin, which naturally will not warm you much. But as already mentioned, it serves more for beauty. They wear it in two ways, like a scarf wrapped around the neck, and like a scarf (kerchief) on the head. Some women just wear it on their shoulders. Thus, the shawl can be considered a universal thing. It is made mainly from:

• silk;
• synthetic fabric;
• knitted shawl.

Arafatka

This is actually a scarf, but now it can be considered a scarf, since it is worn around the neck. The motherland of the arafatka is the Arab countries. It looks like a large and wide piece of fabric. It is wrapped around the neck in several layers. But the tying process is special here. Here you need to make several special nodes. This allows you to wrap tightly around your neck at the same time, while leaving one skein looser to pull over your face. The Arabs did this in order to cover their faces from the sand during sandstorms in the deserts. Since in most Arab countries there is a strong heat, the arafats were naturally made of light and thin fabric. But now there are warmer options that can be worn in cold weather. Very popular with young people.

Neckpiece

This version of the scarf is quite unusual. It partly consists of fur, which is just wrapped around the neck. The size of the fur part is quite voluminous, and therefore it can cover the shoulders. At one time, it was considered very prestigious and cost a lot of money. The reason for this is natural fur. Skin and fur can be used in its manufacture:

• foxes;
• sable.

Bactus

This is a small knitted scarf. It is wrapped in such a way that a kind of triangle is formed in the chest area, the tip of which looks down. That is, this triangle covers the neckline. Since it is knitted, it keeps you warm, especially if you wear it under your clothes. It is knitted in such a way that the scarf gets beautiful and unusual patterns.

Skate

Another unusual invention. Skach is a hybrid of a scarf and a collar, which are interconnected. That is, this is a regular collar with buttons or zippers, to which a regular scarf is attached. It is worn mainly in two ways. First, the collar is not fastened, and the edges of the scarf fold over the chest. The second way, the collar is fastened, and overthrown, wrapped in a scarf.
